Bulgaria: Shaping Armor 23 exercise completed

It ended in recent days Shaping Armor 23, the exercise which saw a company-level unit of the NATO Multinational Battle Group (MNBG BGR) engaged in a live-fire activity.

The training developed in a high-intensity operational scenario and had the aim of refining the specific technical-tactical procedures of each unit and strengthening the interoperability and integration between the soldiers of the different contingents, within the framework of operation Forward Land Force.

Deployed on the ground are two rifle platoons, a mortar platoon, a cavalry platoon, an Italian JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) team, a Montenegrin light infantry platoon, a North Macedonian light infantry platoon and a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) asset. American.

In the activity, in which around 160 soldiers took part, various combat platforms were used, including the VBM "Freccia" in combat version, mortar carrier and "spike" anti-tank missiles. Also on the ground were the Italian armored vehicles "Centauro" and VTLM 2 "Lince", which joined the Montenegrin JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) and the North Macedonian HHMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle).

At the end of the exercise, Colonel Michelangelo Genchi, commander of the MNBG BGR, underlined the importance of carrying out this type of training and exercise activities, which are essential for increasing the integration, interoperability and standardization of procedures, in particular between the personnel of the different contingents that make up the battle group.
