Special wish of the Lecce children to the Italian Contingent in Lebanon

On Monday, the Italian blue helmets, under the guidance of Brigadier General Ugo Cillo, received some gifts from Italy.

The initiative desired by the mayor of Squinzano, Mr. Cosimo Miccoli, in collaboration with the Army General Staff involved the entire municipal administration and the schools of Lecce.

The children of secondary schools of the first and second degree wanted to send their personal and warm wishes for happy holidays to the Italian military by creating small gifts in order to demonstrate their closeness to men and women in uniform engaged in Lebanese theater during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Not just a material gift, therefore, but also a gesture of profound gratitude, esteem and consideration on the part of all the students.

A representation of soldiers from every region of Italy, including some squinzanesi, together with the commander of Sector West, general Ugo Cillo, has discarded and opened the beautiful gifts received. The smiles and joy of the faces of Italian blue helmets have been indescribable.

The purpose of this initiative was to make a simple gift, a warm caress and a strong hug from the children reach Lebanon with the hope that values ​​such as the homeland, the peace and sacrifice of those who work to keep it become shared themes from everyone, from the smallest to the biggest.
