In recent days, a meeting (Shura) was held at Camp Arena, which involved the major political and military offices of the province of Herat.

The assembly, organized by the Italian command in Afghanistan, Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W), chaired by its commander, Brigadier General Gianpaolo Mirra, allowed an effective and collaborative confrontation between the commander of the 207th Army Corps of the Afghan National Army, the governor of the province of Herat and the commanders of all police forces operating in the province.

During the assembly, each district was carefully analyzed, assessing its security situation as well as the presence of criminal factions and terrorist cells, and how the security forces are working to stabilize those areas.

At the end of the meeting, the Afghan command was addressed to the Italian command, heartfelt thanks for the useful and effective organized confrontation between the local security forces, who, in turn, were able to draw up shared action plans.

It was also highlighted as the West Region of Afghanistan, and the province of Herat in particular, is currently one of the areas of the country with the best economic and cultural prospects, by virtue of the good security conditions achieved thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Afghan military and civil institutions and the commitment of the coalition forces led by Italy.
