Afghanistan: new security summit in Herat

The work of the Italian contingent operating in Afghanistan does not stop at the mission Resolute Support (RS) who today organized a meeting on the subject of security attended by the deputy commander of the NATO mission lt general Sandy Storrie and the political and military leaders of the province of Herat.

The authorities, which arrived at Herat airport, were received by the commander of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAACW), Brigadier General Gianpaolo Mirra.

During the meeting, the leaders had the opportunity to examine the security situation in the province and more generally in the country, focusing on how to better operate and coordinate the security forces present on the territory in order to improve the stabilization of the area.

Words of thanks and appreciation were expressed by General Gori, commander of the 207 ^ Afghan Army Corps for advice and support provided to Afghan security forces in Afghanistan and especially in the Italian-led West sector, thanks to which he is A high level of professionalism and autonomy has been achieved. The high official also underlined the generous sharing of experiences, mutual respect and the climate of partnerships established among the contingents of Resolute Support and local security forces.
