On the day of the 3 October, representatives of the "Train, Advise, Assist Command West" (TAAC W) participated in a "Shura" on the operational and security situation in the province of Badghis.
This shura is part of the "Expeditionary Advisor Team" (EAT) project, which involves the regular sending of Advisor teams "at home", with the specific task of training and training the army and police units located in the area of responsibility of the TAAC – W.
The meeting was attended by the commander of the TAAC-W, Brigadier General Gianpaolo Mirra, the commander of the 207 ° army corps and the highest institutional and military offices in the province of Badghis: it was several years that personnel of the international coalition did not access the base, which in the past hosted a contingent of soldiers with a Spanish majority but who for some years had been sold to the Afghans.
According to the Afghan tradition, the shura is a meeting of institutional representatives and the community, in which we share and take shared decisions on topics relevant to the daily life of the population. The meeting was held in QAL'HE-YE NOW, about 180 kilometers from Herat and falling within the competence area of the Italian-led command TAAC W.
After greetings from the governor of Badghis province, Mohammad Anwar Eshaqzai, Colonel Shirhamza Darbandi, Executive Officer of the 3rd brigade, gave a briefing on the current operating situation in the province.
