It ended in the presence of the leaders of the mission Resolute Support coming from Kabul and the highest military authorities of the western region, the first security coordination meeting, called by the commander of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W), gen. Gianluca Carai, with the aim of assisting the Afghan security forces in operational planning that will affect the coming season of fighting.
In these days, the army and the police, while continuing without interruption in the conduct of surgical actions against the onset, are intensifying their training activities, with the help of Italian instructors, and are entering into the heart of operational planning that it will lay the foundations for future activities to combat the enemies of Afghanistan in the near future fighting season.
Among the main planning elements identified and agreed upon by the military authorities present at the meeting, particularly relevant those relating to the training methods of the security forces, which must be characterized by maximum realism and with the use of all assets in their availability, including helicopters and aviation. These activities have the dual purpose of increasing the operational capabilities of the military and thus bringing Afghan Nation Security Forces (ANDSF) closer to the goal of self-sustainability.
Another element of planning was the re-articulation of the check point scattered on the territory that, being composed of a small number of soldiers and policemen are extremely vulnerable to attacks organized by the insurgency. In this regard, the Afghan forces will activate a restructuring plan that, while ensuring a high presence in the territory, will simultaneously allow greater protection for them and the availability of rapid reaction units that will be ready to fight against the enemies of Afghanistan.
Words of appreciation and thanksgiving have been expressed, both from the summits of Resolute Support both by Afghan military leaders, in favor of the Italian contingent to brigade "Sassari" for the initiative undertaken and especially for the daily work of the instructors who are giving new impetus to the activities and guarantee with their assistance the achievement of more and more ambitious goals for the good of the Afghan people and for the future of the young generations.
