In recent days, the commander of the Resolute Support (RS) mission, General John F. Campbell, visited the Italian military stationed at Camp Arena in Herat.

The commander of RS was received by the commanding general of Train Advise Assist Command West (TAACW) and commander of the Italian military contingent, Mauro D'Ubaldi.

After a briefing on the tasks performed by the TAACW, the gen. Campbell performed a reconnaissance flight over the area of responsibility aboard the NH90 helicopters TF Fenice, at the end of which he met the main regional authorities including the governor of Herat, Asif Rahimi and the commander of the 207 Army Corps, General Taj Mohammad Jahed.

TAACW carries out training and consultancy activities with regards to Afghan Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), with the aim of improving their capacity for coordinated management of territorial safety - including the recruitment and training of new personnel - and the consolidation of a logistic capacity to achieve an ever greater degree of autonomy.
