Afghanistan: the military deliver aid to the 'Allaudin' orphanage

- The Italian soldiers employed at the NATO Mission "Resolute Support" (RS) in Kabul have donated to the orphanage Allaudin of the Afghan capital, basic necessities acquired with the proceeds collected, for charity purposes, with the running race "Run with Italy for Charity "organized the 7 last June, on the occasion of the celebrations for the LXIX anniversary of the Republic.

The Allaudin orphanage is one of the major Afghan structures dedicated to assisting and welcoming orphans, especially minors, many of whom are also victims of the effects of the many years of wars that have affected the country. In particular, the donation was made in favor of the 110 girls and boys, aged between the 4 and the 18 years, currently hosted in the structure.

In the presence of the general director of the institute, mr. Abdullah Hashimi and the director of the women's section mrs. Mahwaa, the gen. ca Paolo Ruggiero, deputy commander for the Transition of the RS Mission, presented the gifts in a symbolic ceremony, consisting of a set of objects of first necessity and personal hygiene. The director, in his speech, thanked for the initiative and attention to his institute, praising the commitment of the Italian military, which together with those of other nations belonging to the Coalition, support and train the Afghan Security Forces.

The RS mission, which since 1 January 2015 has replaced the ISAF mission (International Security Assistance Force), is focused on training, consulting and assistance in favor of the Afghan Army and Security Forces and is aimed at progressive improvement of their level of operation and autonomy.
