Afghanistan: "BAD MEDICS" exercise

The soldiers of the Italian contingent based at Camp Arena, headquarters of the Train, Advise, Assist Command West (TAAC W) have carried out a medical evacuation exercise (Medical Evacuation - Medevac) in the last few days, a procedure in which staff injured in operation is recovered and transported to military hospital facilities, within the time frame and with an adequate security framework.

The simulation was attended by security teams, rotary wing structures of the Task Group Fenice, the Medevac team, Air Force health and military personnel who oversaw civil air traffic monitoring at Herat Airport. The entire exercise was planned and constantly monitored by the Joint Operation Center, the operational room of the TAAC W.

The commander of TAAC W, general Massimo d'Ubaldi, expressed satisfaction with the realism of the simulation at the real conditions of intervention, as well as for the readiness and coordination of the structures involved.
