Afghanistan: donation of medicines to Herat

400 kilograms of drugs have been distributed in recent days by the Civil and Military Cooperation (CIMIC) of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W) on an Alpine brigade basis Taurinense, to the health facilities of Herat. The activity, carried out in close contact with Dr. Fariba Seddiqi, manager of the Gozarah district clinic, and with Banco Farmaceutico - an Italian non-profit organization engaged in the donation of medicines to realities without means - allowed the distribution of aid to small structures health and outpatient clinics around Herat, home of the Italian contingent.

The short but significant ceremony attended by General Massimo Biagini, commander of the TAAC West, was also attended by the elderly (elders) of the neighboring villages, which have a great social and institutional role in the Afghan communities. The elders before the delivery they met General Biagini, who represented the problems that are of greatest concern in the families of their villages, thanking him at the same time for the aid delivered by the Italian contingent.

The profitable and constant relations with the Health Department of Herat and with the non-profit organizations specialized in health aid, established over the years by the Italian contingent, continue not only with projects aimed at providing emergency health support, but also with investments in prevention and information.

The support to the population, achieved thanks to the contribution of the operators of the Multinational CIMIC Group, a unit of the Army - multinational and inter-force value - specialized in civil-military cooperation, is one of the activities that goes alongside the main training and assistance of Afghan security, primary focus of the mission Resolute Support.
