Afghanistan: Carabinieri trains Afghan police forces

Today the carabinieri of the Police Advisor Team (PAT) have completed the 5 ° "Crime Scene Investigation" course (CSI), the fortieth of those carried out in the last six months by the Arma soldiers employed in the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W), brigade guide "Pinerolo".

The policemen ofAfghan Border Police who got the qualification of teachers were in total 300, which also includes a female rate. These 170s have been qualified in the last quarter, witnessing the growing effort and training activity of Italian militants.

Train-the-trainer training activities enable formerly trained police officers to teach the Afghan police to train and certify, in full autonomy, new instructors at local training institutes.

The activities of Train Advise and Assist conducted in recent months have focused on assisting the local police in planning their operations, in gathering information for investigative purposes, in the standardization of procedures in joint operations and finally in assisting staff bodies in planning and solving problems related to logistics. 

The commander of the TAAC-W, Brigadier General Gianpaolo Mirra, expressed at ten. with the. Antonio Bruno, commander of the PAT, great satisfaction for the exceptional work done by the carabinieri that with their professionalism have won the trust and esteem of the Afghan colleagues.

The carabinieri of the PAT come from the 1 regiment paratroopers "Tuscania", from the 7 ° "Trentino-Alto Adige" and from the 13 ° "Friuli-Venezia Giulia".
