Afghanistan: change of witness to the Military Advisor Team

It took place yesterday, at Camp "Zafar", headquarters of the 207th Afghan Army Corps, in the presence of Brigadier General Amanullah Mobin, commander of the 207th Army Corps, of Major General Farook, commander of the 606th zone of Herat police and Brigadier General Claudio Minghetti, commander of the TAAC-W (Train Advise Assist Command â € "West), the rotation of the commander of the Military Advisor Team (MAT), the unit of the Italian Army that assists the 207 army corps of the Afghan Army in its own growth process.

The main task entrusted to Military Advisor Team (MAT) is to assist the Afghan Army in achieving the necessary degree of autonomy, through activities of train advise and assist, as a "link" between the forces of the international coalition and the Afghan Army, supporting it in the planning of operations to combat local onset and contributing to its professionalization process.

The training activities range from specialized courses in radio communications, information technology, identification and deactivation of improvised explosive devices (IED) to "Ground MEDEVAC" training activities to improve the evacuation capacity of wounded soldiers by land, to support activities aimed at the Afghan female personnel, as well as training for the training of Afghan military instructors.

Also worth mentioning are the activities related to security operations by the Afghan Army, the Salma dam last June, theExpeditionary Advisory Package (EAP), implemented by the TAAC-West command last January, until the development, in the last few days, of a videoconferencing system with the brigade commands located in the localities of Farah, Bagdish and Herat, main 207 headquarters ° army corps in order to mentor the commanders, even at a distance, and according to the needs of the moment.
