1000 flight hours for the Tornado of the Task Force Devil Task Group Air

The Tornadoes of the Air Force, made available by Italy in support of the International Coalition to counter the threat posed by Daesh, have passed the ambitious goal of the 1000 flight hours.

Since 23 November 2014, the date on which the Tornadoes have been risked on the Ahmed Al Jaber air base, more than 1000 hours have been flying, recognizing more than 700 targets on the ground.

The aircraft are turning out to be a resource of fundamental importance for the International Coalition in the context of the "Inherent Resolve" operation. It is a bi-reactor, bi-seated, with a variable geometry wing and all-weather capability equipped with a latest generation reconnaissance electro-optical pod.

The system, as a whole, is equipped with visible and infrared sensors and includes a ground station for mission planning and photo-interpretation of the collected data.

The Tornados are part of the Task Force Devil within the Air Force Task Force - Kuwait and carry out reconnaissance tasks in the Middle East area with about 70 military mainly coming from the 6 ° Stormo di Ghedi.

The Task Group provides a decisive and highly researched contribution thanks to the ability to collect and analyze images within the whole area of ​​operations.
