From 1 August to 2 September, at the Giovannini wharf of the military Arsenal in La Spezia, the "TIR.NEMA" maneuver training was held on board the ships RelayLobsterMurena,  Purple e Gorgona. The 1 ° Auxiliary unit group (COMGRUPAUS 1) and the commanders of the units involved developed the training program for the students of the 2nd class of the course Mizar of the Naval Academy, with daily and night sea trips, lessons and briefing in-depth analysis.

The module is aimed at learning the fundamental concepts of naval maneuvering, the acquisition of the right mastery on the bridge and seafaring sensitivity.

The students practiced in the various types of mooring - at anchor, at the buoy, in the so-called "peak" and "flanked" moorings - in simulations of shipwrecked recovery and in the management of failures to the steering and propulsion systems. The training periods and the commitment of the students during the outings at sea have allowed the achievement of all objectives, including full autonomy in the management of kinematic maneuvers, essential for the achievement ofEnabling the Guard in the Basic Plan (AGPB) at the end of the 3 ° academic year.

During their stay in La Spezia, the students of the course Mizar they had other training opportunities in various fields, including visits on board ships Bergamini and the submarine Venuti and a visit to the Naval Technical Museum of La Spezia.

This is the perception of the internship of the 2nd class student Giancarlo Iacomino: "Soon we pupils will become officers on the bridge and maneuvering will be on the agenda for us. The memory of TIR.NEMA, of our first moorings, of our mistakes, the smiles that accompanied our learning, will always be a point of reference in our professional life. During the daily outings at sea we put into practice what we studied during the 2nd class in the Academy and on the navigation texts, the experience of the ship crews and the bridge team taught us the importance of the individual and the group, for set course for a common goal, as required of every professional of the sea."
