From 3 to 7 May the Foundation brig Tender to Nave Italia will host a group of 15 people on board - children, adolescents and adults - with autism who will participate in the project Autism with the wind in its sails: integration project for people with autism and their families promoted by Angsa Liguria Onlus, the Ligurian section of theNational Association of Autistic Subjects Parents.

The stay on Nave Italia will be an important opportunity to transfer the skills and competences acquired in the projects that the Association has been carrying out for some time in a new and highly motivating context. In particular, a specific project is envisaged for each participant for the development of individual and social autonomy.

Being Swan an association of families will give particular importance to parents and siblings who in this experience do not only play the role of carers. In an aggregating and collaborative context such as navigation on a sailing ship, in fact, you can find moments of comparison and deepening, through self-help groups. The project does not end aboard ship Italy but begins first with information, training, group creation and knowledge, evaluation and return of the experience. In addition to the typical activities of life on board, the boys have the opportunity to enhance their desires, tastes and needs but also to make videos, photographs and stories for the creation of a logbook. The ultimate goal is to improve the participants' sense of self-worth and self-efficacy.
