Mission accomplished by Nave Grecale that, under the command of frigate captain Onofrio Marco Frumusa, returned to La Spezia after five months spent in the waters of the Horn of Africa and the Indian Ocean, as part of the European anti-piracy operation Atalanta, a mission that is intended to ensure the safety of trade routes.

The experience you have gained in an international context, far from the motherland, represents for the crew the greatest and most important contribution made to the country system. You, with your commitment, your control work, with your constant presence in the area, have given the results that everyone expected. The country has asked you for a great effort and even greater has asked your families, the real strength of every sailor who sails far from loved ones - these are the words of the commander of the First Naval Group, Rear Admiral Francesco Sollitto, who added - For them, for the Navy and the nation we will continue our commitment with decision and determination so that Italy, Europe and the whole world may one day be free sailors even in those seas apparently far from us but incredibly so close to ours economy.

A greeting addressed mainly to the entire crew who have just returned, witnessing the continuous competence and dedication, the high professionalism and flexibility shown on every occasion that allowed them to complete the assigned mission.

After the mooring maneuver, the men and women of the Grecale have been able to meet and embrace their families, to whom we owe the thanks for having supported their pets during the five months of activity.
