NATO Working Group at the Underwater Command and Raiders

20/05/15

A year later, the fifth ad hoc NATO working group is being held at the Divers and Raiders Group, "ad hoc" by the Military Committee Maritime Standardization Board (NATO MCMSB) to develop and draft a document that describes in detail and completes the underwater professional figures within the Alliance.

The work will conclude by identifying those that can be considered a sort of NATO "patents" for the various levels of the dive operators and for the corresponding supervisors that, in the Italian tradition, are defined as the dive directors.

The purpose of this standardization activity is to achieve the maximum possible interoperability between the Military Marines, even very different in their structure and organization, thus allowing an immediate comparability of the available underwater professional skills.

In addition to the Italian representatives, COMSUBIN has delegates from Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Poland.

The last meeting, which will be held in Canada next October, will allow us to define in detail the final document that will be presented to the NATO Military Committee for the start of the ratification and implementation process in the individual nations.
