2016 Education Campaign: The XVIIIth Normal Marescialli Course approaches Constance

After the stop in Odessa, Ukraine, on August 19, in front of the public on the quay, ship Palinuro it left its moorings to head towards Constanta, Romania.

The short navigation between the nearby ports also allowed the 8 aspiring midshipmen, coming from the Naval Academy of Livorno and embarked in the ports of Varna and Odessa, to acclimatise and integrate with the crew on board quickly and effectively. The favorable wind has allowed, since the first day, to carry out the sailing activity in favor of the marshals who, as usual, climbed up to the mast to maneuver the sails.

At first light on 22 August, the Palinuro ship entered Constanta, the largest port in Romania and one of the most important in the Black Sea.

Immediately after mooring, the protocol activities began, a useful opportunity for the professional growth of students and young officers, such as visits to the training institutes of the Romanian Navy, the Romanian training ship "Mircea" and the flagship of the navy, the frigate "Regele Ferdinand".

During the five days of port rest, the ship's crew Palinuro he was able to enjoy interesting visits to the city center, the museum of the national navy and the historical museum, rich in finds dating back to Roman times.

From Friday 26th space for the new navigation through the Turkish Straits to reach Leros, where the ship will stop from 1 to 7 September, the last foreign stop of the education campaign.
