The Venice Boat Show kicks off

(To Marina Militare)
31/05/21

Between land and water. For centuries the seat of the largest naval factory in the world and current cultural center of the Navy. The Arsenale of Venice hosts the second edition of the Boat Show until 6 June 2021.

"Naval art returns home", this is the slogan of the event, to recall the ancient maritime tradition of the Serenissima, when the lagoon city had the supremacy of the sea and was the undisputed master of the routes and commercial and cultural bridge between West and East .

The event, promoted by the municipality of Venice in collaboration with the Navy, will comply with the anti-Covid legislation and will have limited admissions with compulsory reservations. Guests will thus be able to admire more than 220 boats up close, visit the 160 booths of the nautical and recreational accessories, inside and outside the 35 thousand square meters used for exhibition spaces.

Nine days dedicated to the sea, maritime culture, naval architecture and the nautical industry, all in the name of environmental sustainability and the first Full Electric regatta as well as the economic relaunch of shipbuilding production, which will project the city of Venice into a event with a wide international scope.

To underline the great bond and the centuries-old tradition that binds Venice to the Navy, the historic Arsenal, the Naval Museum, spaces and ponds, an ancient fortress and naval base in the heart of the city have been opened to the public.

The inauguration saw, among other things, the active participation of the operational departments with an air launch of our raiders from a Navy helicopter.

The Navy also ensured the presence on site of various naval units, together with the operational availability of surveillance of the military areas of a platoon of riflemen of the marine brigade Saint Mark and that of a representation of the divers of the GOS for surveillance activities of the arsenalic bodies of water.
