Torpedo tests Futlyar they will be completed within the year and will enter service in 2018. This is what the Petersburg Research Institute of Marine Engineering and Dagdizel Enterprise confirm to the Russian media.

Sea trials for the new torpedo, evolution of Physics 533 mm, are underway in Ysykköl, a salt lake located in Kyrgyzstan.

The Russian admiralty is particularly enthusiastic about the new weapon system that could go into production by the end of the year. The Futlyar shares with the Physics part of the same specifications, but unlike the latter it will be wire-guided. Capacity also improved target lock-on on the target.

Il Futlyar, to thermal research, according to the branched specifications should be able to hit a target at 50 km away, traveling to over 50 nodes and can be launched from a maximum depth of 400 meters. The new torpedo will equip all class ballistic submarines Borei and those of attack Yasen.

Futlyar will retire on Physics-1/2, despite the fact that a variant with a new propulsion system has already been developed on the latter.
