RAF missions in Iraq from 21 October to 16 November

The British Ministry of Defense reports that ISIS terrorists are under heavy pressure in Iraq; to the north the Kurdish peshmerga continue to push back the caliphate forces while on the front of the province of Anbar the Iraqi troops have surrounded and isolated the ISIS forces in Ramadi. The Royal Air Force continues to support offensives regularly.

I Tornado GR4 and remotely piloted aircraft Reaper as part of the international coalition they continue to carry out daily armed reconnaissance missions and conduct precision attacks in close coordination with the Iraqi and raw land forces. The next objective is identified in the city Sinjar, where a major offensive is being prepared which will be launched by Kurdish security forces. The bulk of ISIS positions are located in the southern part of the city and are methodically targeted by coalition air strikes in view of the peshmerga ground assault.

These are the last missions reported:

On November 12, in aid of the Kurdish forces engaged in launching a major offensive against ISIS terrorists in northern Iraq, the Royal Air Force carries close air support and effective fire during the advance.

On November 13 a couple of Tornado GR4 took off from the base Akrotiri (Cyprus), provided air support to Iraqi troops engaged in a firefight in the area around Ramadi. Four attacks were made on a dense network of Daesh stations using a combination of laser-guided bombs Paveway IV and missiles Brimstone. A second Tornado patrol intervened in support of the same Iraqi detachment during the night destroying an armored vehicle with a missile Brimstone.

On the same day, in the areas chaired by ISIS further north, a Reaper intervened in support of a group of Iraqi soldiers who had reported IS terrorists holed up in an abandoned industrial site. The crew of the Reaper destroyed target with a guided bomb GBU-12.

The 15 November a Reaper in support of the Kurdish offensive, it destroyed a terrorist vehicle with a missile Hellfire. Reaper he then continued his mission through Syrian airspace to gather information to be provided in support of an attack carried out by the French air force on a large terrorist-occupied structure near Raqqa.

The November 16 two patrols of Tornado intervened to support the Kurdish offensive. A mortar station and a heavy machine gun near Mosul have been eliminated. Both targets were destroyed with Paveway IV missiles. The planes then continued west to Sinjar. There a group of 30 terrorists operating in open field, feeling safe from the thick cloud cover, were hit by a missile Paveway. On the way back i Tornado they then destroyed another mortar position southwest of Sinjar.

Less recently, the 21 October two Tornado GR4 taken off from the Akrotiri RAF Base, they identified and eliminated a group of armed terrorists in Ramadi.

The 23 October crew of a remotely piloted aircraft Reaper identified and eliminated an ISIS armored vehicle hidden under a building. Despite the partial concealment of the battleship, the drone was able to identify, maneuver and score a missile Hellfire.

The 24 October another Reaper identifies and eliminates two sniper positions that blocked the advance of Iraqi troops. Remaining in charge of monitoring the advance, the drone was then sent to a group of terrorists who engaged the Iraqi forces in a close fire fight, following their retreat and eliminating the trench where they had taken refuge.

The 25 October a Reaper along with the coalition's jet it destroys two buildings presided over by the terrorists with missiles Hellfire.

The 29 October Tornado GR4 refueled by a tanker aircraft carrying air support to Iraqi troops operating near Bayji. 3 terrorist groups seen converging against an Iraqi post are eliminated with guided bombs Paveway IV. The same day another GR4 eliminates a fortified terrorist position near Tal Afar, in the northwest of the country.

The 30 October a pair of GR4 provides close air support to the Iraqi army, this time near the occupied city of Ramadi. Two Paveway blocking an attack attempt on an Iraqi unit and other 2 subsequently eliminating two anti-aircraft guns used as a heavy weapon against Iraqi ground forces.

The 1 November a Reaper strikes with Hellfire a group of terrorists engaged in a firefight with Iraqi troops. A second Reaper working in the province of Anbar, he collaborates with a coalition squadron to eliminate a group of ISIS terrorists near Ramadi. Meanwhile, in the north-west of Iraq a couple of Tornado GR4 supports the Kurdish peshmerga near Sinjar: three attacks with Paveway against an armed pickup, a weapons depot, and a position of destroyed snipers.

The 2 November a Reaper scores three shots with missiles Hellfire and bombs GBU-12 against ISIL terrorist positions in western Iraq. An anti-aircraft gun is eliminated.

On 3 November a patrol of GR4 provides backing to Kurdish forces near Sinjar. A missile Brimstone centers a weapons depot, one Paveway destroys fire station on the roof of a building.
