The affair between the United States and Iran, which kept us in suspense and which was resolved with the liberation of the sailors, brought those small boats on which the American military were exercising to the attention of the insiders. , before the alleged technical breakdown and the alleged encroachment into Iranian territorial waters. But, what's it about?

They are boats built by the Swedish company Dockstavarvet, the Combat Boat 90 (CB90), denominated by the US Navy "Riverine Combat Boat", are an integral part of the US Navy's fifth fleet and operate in the Persian Gulf area. They mostly sail in the shade and protection of large warships.

La Combat Boat 90 (CB90) is a class of assault craft, originally developed for the Swedish navy and subsequently acquired by other navies: British, US, Norwegian, Greek, Malay and Mexican.

The CB90 is a fast and manageable boat and its light weight, low draft, and double engine mean that this craft can move at a speed of 40 knots (74 km / h) even in the shallow waters of the coasts. The engine jets are partially channeled as in submarines; this allows it to perform even sudden maneuvers at high speed, and sudden "braking". These small boats have a crew of about eight sailors and are capable of performing a wide range of operational tasks. Of course, they can also host cores of other soldiers, almost always special forces.

La Riverine Command Boat is a completely closed platform designed, therefore, to conduct operations of high mobility and tactical fire and has an almost unique peculiarity for vehicles of this kind: the internal work space can be quickly reconfigured, according to the different operational needs and has a sophisticated system of air filtering that also allows protection from chemical attacks.

The characteristics of the vehicle's extremely high versatility make it, in short, a truly effective and multi-mission platform.
