ISIS shows its "Navy SEALs" to the world

Black hood on his head, cotton t-shirt, wool gloves, trousers, sneakers. The Islamic State presents to the world its own elite corps officially called "ISIS Navy SEAL", but already from the first frames, one senses that the training of the chosen men of the Caliphate has nothing to do with the western commandos.

These videos should arouse fear and terror in Westerners, but the result is totally opposite. Indeed, in some ways, these videos help the West to stigmatize the cutthroats and their horrors perpetrated. The MARSOC (United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command) commented that the video was "extremely comic, a shame about music".

This is the third film released by ISIS dedicated to its special forces and as happened for the first two, there is a smile.

The film opens with a special effect that lets you guess the natural operating theater of the Islamic "Seal": water. Ignoring sentinels are attacked by water from the commando in the t-shirt and the knife between the teeth. It is obvious that some are overweight, but the technique is all and instructors seem to focus on strategy and preparation.

In one scene, an instructor in a t-shirt explains how to attack a coastal station. The Seal jump into the water, swimming in a style not yet identified, but considered effective by the Caliphate to attack the enemy.

Frequent slowdowns of images seem to be adopted to cover those clumsy movements that arouse terror in the West. Enemy sentries fall under the exact shots of the Seal.

Unfailing is the usual attack on a compound with somewhat questionable infiltration rules (if someone is really inside the house would make a massacre) and the final prayer where you can see the technical equipment: it is nothing more than clothing commonly used as those gloves wool or watches that seem to be inherited from the father and probably not resistant to water. Of course, ISIS instructors ignore that the wristwatch case could reflect the sunlight and unveil the position, but these are minor details.

Remarkable remarks from the Marine Corps Special Command. These guys - says an instructor - don't even know what they're doing. Look at how they move, handle weapons or worse, their way of eliminating the enemy (in this case the sentries). But I'm an old-school instructor - adds the Marine with irony - this could be a new concept training that I don't understand.

Intercepted on their counterparts, the American Navy Seals also wanted to comment on this video with a Pentagon authorized spokesperson. "The tactics used in the attack by the sea staged in full day, is unusual as well as those cotton dresses worn. The formation seems very rudimentary, it lacks the surprise effect altogether. In short, we train in a very different way. "

Numerous films have been broadcast by the Islamic State, but this is the third dedicated to the special departments of the Caliphate.

Famous, in the first video, the specific training to break the lethal ceramic tiles. They are obviously messages of internal propaganda, in an attempt to continue proselytizing reassuring the stability of Caliphate which, despite the defeats, continues its expansion.

In fact, the "commando" shown, is a clear show of strength for the local audience. It would be absurd to think that such a video could really terrorize a Western soldier. But do not underestimate the real end of these propaganda videos: intimidate the subjugated people, demonstrating a dark, invincible force, but at the same time making themselves attractive to do proselytizing. A kind of glorification of the chosen tactics and soldiers of the Caliphate.

To date, all the clashes between Western special departments and ISIS soldiers have ended with the elimination of terrorists with zero losses. And if Moscow really had to send its own Specnaz to support the Egyptian advance in Cyrenaica for the reconquest of Derna, the jihadists could know an enemy far more ruthless than those encountered to date.
