Green cap operators sent to Libya to support government forces, were forced to leave the country. That's what they communicate from the US Africa Command.

The implementation of a small select team - explain from AFRICOM - it was part of a continuous effort to help the Libyan government. The 14 last December, after the requests of some Libyan officials, operators of our special departments were deployed in the country to collaborate with the loyalist army. A few hours later, members of a local militia demanded the immediate departure of the Commandos. This request was immediately accepted and our soldiers left the country.

The presence of green caps was confirmed a few hours ago near the town of Sabratha, a stronghold of the Islamic State in Libya ocwestern.

The use of green caps in Libya occurs with some frequency. The Pentagon fears that the Islamic State could further destabilize the country already devastated by the internal war. A new UN-sponsored peace agreement, aimed at unifying the rival factions of Libya for the creation of a national unity government, could again involve the West in the country.

London has already confirmed that it could send up to a thousand soldiers to Libya in an exclusive advisory function.
