Canada will withdraw its fighter-bombers by the next 22 February, but will increase its presence on the ground with other 180 soldiers. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said yesterday, from Ottawa, about the Canadian effort in the fight against the Islamic State. Trudeau, who also confirmed military and humanitarian aid for 1,15 billion dollars, explained during his speech that the country will focus on training Iraqi security forces. In every mission it is necessary to make choices - explained Trudeau - we cannot carry out any task. The six F-18 Hornets will be picked up by the next 22 February.

Canada will continue to guarantee the presence of an aerial refueling platform and two reconnaissance aircraft. The number of Canadian soldiers will move from the current 650 to 830. The entire Canadian effort against the Islamic State will be reviewed by the 31 March of the 2017. The deployment - concluded Trudeau - will last at least two years. Since the 2014, Canada has deployed 70 special forces workers to train Kurds in Iraqi Kurdistan.
