"The Islamic State trains pilots in Sirte, Libya, thanks to advanced simulators." This is what the Saudi daily Asharq al-Awsat is today.

"The pilots of the Caliphate, they would be training in take-off, in landing, in techniques to determine the coordinates of an airplane in flight and in communications with the control tower."

According to the newspaper the last generation simulators would have been delivered last October to an unspecified flight company. Two other simulators, this time in military configuration, would have been delivered two weeks ago.

To date there is no evidence that can demonstrate the presence of any air force of the Islamic State.

Quite another matter, however, is the possible use of these "pilots" in the hijacking of civilian flights for terrorist acts.
