The IDF hammer on Hamas

The airstrikes of the Israeli Air Force continue in response to the missile attacks by Hamas. Meanwhile, the IDF are amassing tanks and armored vehicles close to the Gaza Strip.

Today, the chief of staff, General Aviv Kochavi, presented to the government a plan for the invasion of Gaza and the final elimination of the terrorist group Hamas.

The Palestinians spent the first day of the religious festival of Eid al-Fitr under incessant aerial bombardments. Gaza's health ministry says at least 87 people, including 18 children, have been killed since the Israeli offensive began last Monday. More than 530 people were reportedly injured.

At least six Israelis and one Indian citizen were killed following the Hamas missile attacks. The Israeli army said hundreds of rockets were fired from Gaza to various locations in Israel.

US President Joe Biden has called for an end to violence in the Middle East, condemning the launching of missiles on Israeli cities. In the meantime, the Israeli defense minister has announced the mobilization of another 9.000 reservists, destined to reinforce the device that is massing at the gates of Gaza.

The spokesperson for the al-Qassam brigades Hamas said the armed wing fired a rocket towards Ramon airport in southern Israel for the first time. "The Ayyash 250 missile, with a range exceeding 250 km was launched at Ramon airport, about 220 km from Gaza"Abu Obeida said.

The rocket is named after Yahya Ayyash (photo), one of the main Hamas agents assassinated by Israel in 1996. This attack highlights the capabilities Hamas has achieved in recent years, thanks to strong Iranian support.

According to the Israeli military, more than 1.600 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel since the fighting began earlier this week. The success rate of the air defense system Iron Dome Israeli continues to average about 90% in interception of rockets.
