General Gargallo commander of the ACISMOM military corps visiting northern Italy

Brigadier General Tommaso Gargallo of Castel Lentini, recently appointed by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella as commander of the special auxiliary military corps of the Italian Army ACISMOM (Association of Italian Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta), carried out his first institutional visit in Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta.

In particular, during the visit, which lasted a couple of days, General Gargallo was involved in numerous meetings with civil and military authorities. Among the various appointments, the general went to the 1st "Turin" Health Department and to the Historical Museum of the Cavalry Army in Pinerolo.

In Aosta, he met Dr. Sara Ratto, director of the functional center and deputy of the regional department of civil protection and fire brigade. of the Aosta Valley and the brigadier general (aus.) During the meeting, General Santo illustrated the activities carried out during the COVID pandemic since special rescue operations unit of the military corps of the Order of Malta in favor of the population of the Aosta Valley. The NOSS soldiers were in fact employed within the regional operations room, the call center and the swab drive. Subsequently they were also employed in Aosta in the vaccination campaign.

During the two-day visit, the general also visited the special rescue operations unit of the ACISMOM military corps, based in Turin, a true center of excellence in the field of drones, whose personnel work in the field of missing persons research and training.
