For months now, the Kurds have been fighting against the Islamic State supported by the United States, France, Italy and Great Britain (without considering the western volunteers who have joined the peshmerga). In reality, the very atrocities of ISIS have united the Kurdish guerrillas of Iraq, Syria and Turkey in a single common front against the terrorists.
According to the press conference spokesman of the Ypg, Redur Xelil, which took place a few hours ago in Rimelan, the oil center of Rojava (the "Syrian Kurdistan", ed), almost five thousand terrorists were eliminated in the 2014.
Xelil confirmed the atrocity of the fighting that took place during the year between the Ypg forces and the jihadists in different parts of Rojava. Confirm 4964 killings.
The Ypg spokesperson also analyzed the current military situation and recent developments, underlining three basic steps.
The first was undoubtedly the rescue of tens of thousands of Yazidis, persecuted in Iraq by Islamic militiamen who consider them unbelievers, thanks to the opening of a humanitarian corridor. It is estimated that 150 Yazidis may have reached Rojava.
The second passage was marked by historical resistance against preponderant enemy forces in Kobanê, a city with a Kurdish majority, which astonished the world.
Finally, the third phase was the vast "defense and cleansing" operation that took place from the city of Mebrûka to the villages of Aliya.
The spokesman pointed out that the historical resistance of the Ypg / Ypj fighters was not only intended to protect the Kurdish people, but also all the Arabs, Syrians, Armenians and Chechens living in Rojava.
Redur Xelil then concluded, before rattling off all the data for the 2014 operations, that in the 2015 the Ypg / Ypj forces will grow both in number and capacity, consolidating the relationship with coalition forces.

The Ypg Forces have carried out 337 operations against Isis gangs while 414 was the firefights. 4964 terrorists eliminated. 228 corpses are in the hands of the Ypg forces while eleven are the prisoners.

The Ypg / Ypj forces lost 537 soldiers.
To date, the number of volunteers who have reached Syria is unknown.
Among Swedes, Americans, British, French, Israeli and Italian, the number of volunteers may have exceeded one thousand units and recruitment is constantly growing. Volunteers, men and women, fight in the ranks of the "Lions of Rojava", a Kurdish movement that aims to "send terrorists to hell".
The 'Black Task Force' formed by the special Tier-1 American departments and by the British Sas was deployed against ISIS.
