Israel would be thinking of the F-35B as a tactical platform should it suffer a devastating attack that would knock out its airports. This is what the Hebrew-language newspaper headlines today Walla.
We know that the Middle Eastern State has already purchased 33 F-35As (conventional take-off version of the JSF), with the possibility, based on the contracts signed up to now, to add another seventeen.
Variant B would allow Israeli forces to disperse their aircraft to remote locations in the country. A logical move, considering Israel's small size.
The IDF could probably develop new attack strategies (along the line of the Marines, but with different objectives) based on the combination of MV-22 and F-35B.
