The activities of the international coalition against the Islamic State in Syria continue. The information disclosed by the French Ministry of Defense and reported in part by the US one, indicates an inter-force bombing launched by aircraft carriers Charles De Gaulle e USS Harry S. Truman operating for more than a month in the Persian Gulf. The targets, located in the Manbij region 60 kilometers north-east of Aleppo in Syria, would have been hit by a formation of at least 20 aircraft belonging to the Aeronaval and the US Navy. The attack would have taken place last Monday (1 February) and an unspecified number of Rafale Marine and F / A-18C took part in it. The raid was aimed at destroying a training camp for Caliphate militants which is allegedly also used as a storage site for weapons of various kinds. During the operation, the intervention of a C-135 FR tanker was necessary to refuel the jets in flight that needed fuel for a 'safe' return to their respective decks.

The news of the joint attack, the first reported in more detail on official channels, is in line with the desire to show the interoperability of the means used by the two navies that are headed by the coalition and have operated from the Persian Gulf carrier since last December. Different types of laser-guided bombs and cruise missiles, including SCALP missiles (see article) French, were used during the 'strike' to achieve the destruction of the target.
