Aggregation and "dual use", le Keyword of the conference The opportunities of boating in the "dual use" sector: experiences compared to Seafuture 2018, held on 29 March during the first day of the 15 ° edition of Seatec, international exhibition of technology, subcontracting and design for boats, yachts and ships.

The conference, moderated by Franco Lazzari, director of the RID magazine, took on the connotation of a round table where the speakers addressed the issues from the different points of view of the major clients and small and medium enterprises.

The meeting was opened by Cristiana Pagni, president of La Spezia EPS, the Special Company of the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce, introducing the concept of aggregation between Large Enterprises and Small Medium Enterprises, as a strategy for the development of effective synergies capable of bringing mutual benefits in the common interest of customer satisfaction, increasingly attentive to product innovation, technical reliability and after-sales service.

The concrete answer that the La Spezia EPS company together with strategic partners such as: Navy, Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce, DLTM, Consorzio Tecnomar and AIAD just to name a few, is Seafuture. The event, now in its 6th edition, is an integrated hub for the business of innovation in the sector of marine technologies in the dual context and aims to create a platform of interconnections and business relationships and technology transfer capable of strengthening the Blue Economy which, in terms of value for our country, is worth 43,7 billion euros.

The main themes will be "dual use", refitting, environmental sustainability and research, areas capable of increasing competitiveness and generating high value-added turnover thanks to the high skills of the Italian industrial system that are recognized internationally. The themes of the di Safety & Security e Cyber ​​Defense they will have dedicated panels in the field of high-level conferences. Of particular importance is the role of small and medium-sized enterprises, the backbone of our economy, to which special attention will be paid.

The round table continued with the intervention of Domenico Rocco - Fincantieri's Market Business Development, Military Ships Division - who illustrated in detail the factors that contribute to retaining the supply chain by working on the integration of skills.

The divisional admiral Giorgio Lazio, Northern maritime commander, faced the "dual use" perspective focusing on the increased level of modularity and flexibility of new shipbuilding and on the possibilities of synergy with the different production realities offered by the transformation and evolution of presence of the Navy in the Gulf of La Spezia.

Carlo Festucci, general manager of theItalian Aerospace and Defense Association, illustrated how to support SMEs in the "dual use" market and how bidirectional communication is not obvious but necessary.

Lorenzo Forcieri, president of Ligurian Marine Technology District, strongly confirmed the role of clusters in the aggregation between companies and research in the nautical sector, shipbuilding and marine technologies, renewing the invitation to companies to create synergy, finding in the aggregation for research the strength to develop projects and initiatives capable of increasing the competitiveness of businesses, also with the support of the DLTM itself.

The appointment will therefore be Seafuture 2018 which will take place at the naval base of La Spezia, from 23 to 25 May 2018.
