Oracle Chatbot: Introducing the Worldwide New Artificial Intelligence Technology

On Wednesday, 20, September, Oracle introduced its new technology in Rome, which was inaugurated in Rome Oracle Chatbot.
The event was presented by Alessandro Beligi, Italy Sales Director Digital Engagement and Luca Postacchini, Business Development Mobile Strategy Manager, simultaneously with the other Oracle offices in Madrid, London, Chicago and San Francisco.

Let's start by defining a chatbot: it is a program based on the use of Artificial Intelligence with which it is possible to simulate a conversation between a human being and a robot, these are already widely used by many companies for marketing purposes or to accompany some online services (for example theonline banking) or dai social network.

In the far 2006 in America a chatbot on goarmy.com, the so-called SGT.STAR helped would-be military personnel by answering simple enlistment questions. It used similar technology developed by the CIA and FBI.

From 2006 to today the steps forward were many, the new one Oracle Chatbot is able to store the information that is given to him during the conversation and to process it, doing his job quickly and efficiently.

chatbot integrates multiple service channels into one user interface, integrating Facebook, Google Home, and so on.

But how does a conversation take place with a chatbot?

At the basis of the bot's operation there is NLP (Natural Language Processing) and algorithms Machine Learning which allow the program to be learned even without being programmed explicitly.

Un muzzle to work properly must:

- know theIntent, that is, the intention of the user, his most frequent needs; in the case of banking bot may be the request for the balance or a transfer of money into the account;
- have a good number of utterances, or Intentional phrases that are given as an example to muzzleso that it can understand the user's request in whatever way it is posted;
- recognize the Entities, that is, variables that are given in a speech such as the characteristics of the product being discussed, such as quantity, color, size, etc. in the case of a bot that helps in shopping.
All these features allow the bot to determine the best way to help the user.

The technology of chatbot and the more general the Artificial Intelligence, as in the SGT example. STAR, can help the world of Defense in various ways. An intelligent auto responder could probably take the place of a power plant.

More generally, in a historic moment such as the present one, where the reduction of military personnel is on the agenda, perhaps such a tool could be helpful in carrying out informal routine tasks, allowing a more prudent use of staff military. The technology of chatbot it could become complementary to man who could thus devote himself to tasks where human presence is required.

Of course, every new computer technology always has its own risk aspects and in this case it will have to be taken into account with particular attention as it is something totally new.
