MBDA welcomes the signing, on 4 October, of an Anglo-Polish governmental agreement on cooperation on air defense missiles and industrial scope definition for the country regarding the NAREW land air defense program (GBAD).

The signing took place at the Zamość military base. Poland simultaneously declared the receipt of equipment for the first firing unit of the Mała NAREW GBAD system, with MBDA's CAMM missile and iLaunchers.

Chris Allam, managing director of MBDA UK, said: “The delivery of the Mała NAEW to Poland in such a short amount of time is an extraordinary achievement and we are very proud that this has been achieved thanks to our close cooperation with PGZ and the strong support of the UK government. Today's government agreements are the starting point for the next steps in Anglo-Polish missile cooperation and support the proposed PGZ-MBDA technology transfer on the Narew, including also Pilica +, Miecznik, Ottokar-Brzoza and other vital programs ".

MBDA is working with PGZ to create a sovereign missile capability in Poland supported by the transfer of knowledge and technology from MBDA to the Polish defense industry. This joint work is expected to provide decisive military capabilities to Poland, bring significant value for money and provide a boost to the Polish economy that will generate highly skilled jobs.

The Mała NAREW system, with its integration of Polish SOŁA radar stations and C2 systems with CAMM missiles, provides an important springboard for the core NAREW program.
