Leonardo participates with a leading role at the DSEI - Defense Systems and Equipment International exhibition, which will be held from 12 to 15 September in London at the Excel Center (stand no. S5-110). After consolidating its activities in the United Kingdom, Leonardo is today a stronger player, able to further develop its business both in the country and in the export markets, as well as investing in the best skills and technologies.

Leonardo's stand is divided into four areas, each with a selection of products dedicated to terrestrial, naval, aeronautical and cyber applications. At the center of the exhibition space, the Wildcat AW159 helicopter represents the company's ability to provide complete solutions that include the
on-board equipment and support services.

In the "Command, Control, Communicate" area, the equipment supporting the Armed Forces involved in land operations is presented. Based on field-proven technologies and products, Leonardo's C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence) solutions on display include a tower for advanced operational bases (Forward Operating Base) for operational readiness and terrestrial and naval communication systems . Furthermore, the scale reproduction of the command bridge of a multi-role ship is exhibited which, thanks to the use of virtual reality and the new-generation "naval cockpit", simulates sensors and systems for the integrated management of ship and ship management operations. combat system.

The “Sense, Engage and Protect” area illustrates Leonardo's electro-optical, radar, laser and intelligent ammunition technologies, which guarantee customers state-of-the-art situational awareness. Solutions of virtual reality, advanced training and operational support are also on display in the space dedicated to "Operational Readiness", while in the fourth section "Unmanned Air Systems", dedicated to remotely piloted aircraft, Leonardo presents the HERO helicopter , specifically designed for land and naval missions.

Outside the stand, in the space dedicated to terrestrial activities, Leonardo presents a demo of its solution to implement the Generic Vehicle Architecture standard of the British Army and systems for land forces. In the “Rotary Park” static area, the Merlin Mk2 and Merlin Mk4 helicopters are also exhibited and, in the vicinity, a Forward Operating Base. Next to the Type 23 frigate docked at the pier, the Wildcat and Merlin Mk4 helicopters are visible.

The collaborative approach of Leonardo with the industry and with the world of university and research is witnessed to DSEI by a focus on the partnership with Hensoldt within the "Skytale team", which led to the awarding of the contract relating to IFF Mode 5 avionics systems for identification
friend / enemy who will equip over British 350 land, air and naval platforms. On the stand also a scale model of the laser directed energy system (Laser Directed Weapon - LDEW) for the British Ministry of Defense, developed in the context of the UK Dragonfire consortium
between MBDA, Leonardo, Qinetiq and other British companies.

Committed to actively supporting the development of qualified employment policies in the United Kingdom, Leonardo participates in the "DSEI People and Skills Day" scheduled for Friday 15 September. The Leonardo ambassadors for the STEM training program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) will make their experience available to young people, giving them information and advice on the implications of a career in scientific disciplines.
