Leonardo yesterday announced new successes for its executive helicopters in Brazil that further strengthen the company's leadership in the country and on the world market for this operational application.
The orders include, in particular, three AW169 and a GrandNew for as many Brazilian VIP customers as further expanding Leonardo's presence in the helicopter market of the South American country where up to now almost 200 machines were sold for various commercial, military and public use utility.
The twin-engine light helicopters of the GrandNew and AW109 series boast a solid presence in Brazil. The combination of advanced technological and performance features, together with the high level of comfort and safety, make the GrandNew the ideal solution for VIP / corporate transport in Brazil and in the world. Over 360 units have been sold to more than 220 customers in almost 40 countries to date.
Brazil also offers great opportunities for the most recent AW169. Of the over 160 helicopters of this type sold to date in the world in fact, almost 20 are destined for the Brazilian market.
The new generation AW169 helicopter has proved capable of fully satisfying the new needs of operators and presents multiple innovations also for safety. New technological solutions have been adopted for rotors, engines, avionics, transmission and power systems and this model is able to carry up to ten passengers in its comfortable cabin.
Thanks to the upcoming deliveries of its new models and to the growth of its presence in Brazil and South America, Leonardo confirms its leadership on the world market of twin-engine VIP helicopters with a share of 50%.
