Leonardo-Finmeccanica today announced the signing of orders for five AgustaWestland AW169 helicopters in Brazil by various corporate and private customers. The announcement follows the official presentation of the new generation helicopter, its avionics features, mission capabilities and solutions for VIP interiors, made at the end of August in the country and which was attended by more than 100 pilots.
The AW169 meets the specific needs of VIP customers and presents innovative solutions for security. State-of-the-art technologies for the rotor, propulsion system, avionics and transmission have been adopted for the new product and can accommodate up to ten passengers.
Of the more than 150 machines chosen by customers all over the world with orders, framework agreements and options, more than twenty units are destined for Brazilian operators. Leonardo maintains its leadership in the global market for multi-engine executive transport helicopters, with a share of 50%, which can be further extended with the next deliveries of AW169.
