Leonardo's Board of Directors, which met yesterday under the chairmanship of Gianni De Gennaro, resolved to exercise the pre-emption right on the purchase of 98,54% of Vitrociset, a company in which Leonardo currently holds 1,46 %, against the notification of the offer received on 9 August this year
The operation creates value by contributing to the strengthening of Leonardo in its core business of Services, in particular Logistics, Simulation & Training and Space Operations, including the Space Surveillance and Tracking segment. Furthermore, this initiative makes it possible to consolidate the national supply chain in the Aerospace, Defense and Security sector, increasing its competitiveness with significant market prospects. Subsequently, the most appropriate corporate structures will be assessed, also contemplating the possibility of entry of other actors, capable of contributing to the better positioning of Vitrociset in the reference businesses.
Vitrociset offers specialized services and solutions for complex systems in the Defense and Security, Space, Transportation and Critical Infrastructures sectors; with 989 employees, of which approx. 630 in Italy, in 2017 the company generated revenues of about163 million euros and orders of approx. 236 millions of euros. The transaction is subject to specific conditions including Golden Power and Antitrust authorizations
