Leonardo celebrates the 40 years of Telespazio VEGA UK in the United Kingdom

Leonardo yesterday celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the activities of Telespazio VEGA UK in the United Kingdom. The event took place at the Italian Embassy, ​​in London, in the presence of the Italian ambassador, Raffaele Trombetta, the coordinator of Leonardo's space activities and Telespazio's chief executive officer, Luigi Pasquali, the director of Government Affairs of Leonardo MW , Andrew Cowdery and the managing director of Telespazio VEGA UK, Marco Folino.

Telespazio has been present in the United Kingdom since 1978 and has offices in Luton and Harwell. Telespazio VEGA UK provides the British corporate and institutional market with innovative services and solutions in the fields of engineering and space operations, Earth observation, navigation, fixed and mobile satellite communications. In addition, the company develops systems for the ground segment of satellite missions and provides specialist advice for some of the major international space programs. Recently, the creation of the Climate Data Store, as part of the Copernicus program of the European Commission, and the development of the authorization software for space launches, operationally used since 2017 at the European spaceport of French Guiana.

Telespazio VEGA UK is a subsidiary of the Leonardo group, one of the top ten companies in the world in Aerospace, Defense and Security. On the occasion, an exhibition was presented at the Italian Embassy in London, which collects eight spectacular high resolution satellite images, optics and radar, which allow a virtual flight to be carried out on the British Isles, highlighting some peculiar aspects of great interest.
