The new generation Airbus A400M transport aircraft recently obtained certification for the simultaneous deployment of paratroopers and thus completed the industrial development of the maximum deployment capacity of 116 paratroopers using both side doors (58 + 58).
The flight test campaign for certification, carried out in May 2020 in close coordination with the French Armament General Directorate (DGA) and the armed forces of France and Belgium, recorded over 1.000 launches and implemented new registration-based development methodologies and 3D modeling of the paratroopers' launch paths.
The completion of this important passage allows the A400M to transport 116 paratroopers who can launch two at a time from the ramp in free fall, or through the side doors, with automatic parachute opening, a capacity that significantly increases its operational possibilities.
