The fleet of over 375 convertiplans V-22 Osprey, between CV-22 of the US Air Force and MV-22 of the US Marine Corps, has passed the milestone of 500.000 flight hours.

"The V-22 offers unparalleled capabilities for US marines and command of Air Force special operations"said Colonel Matthew Kelly, head of the joint V-22 program for the US Marine Corps.

The V-22 Osprey is the only convertiplane today in production in the world. It is also used in missions in difficult operating environments.

Recently, the aircraft was used for relief efforts in the Bahamas after hurricane Dorian.

A third variant, the CMV-22, will be deployed with the US Navy in the 2020.
