On behalf of the governments of France, Italy and the United Kingdom, the OCCAR (Joint Organization for Armaments Cooperation) has notified a contract New In Service Support (N-ISS) with the Franco-Italian consortium Eurosam (jointly MBDA and Thales). The agreement replaces the first ISS contract valid since July 2012 which represented the first step in a major multinational armaments program: OCCAR and Eurosam have collaborated to create a support community that meets the requirements of the three nations and five end users (armies) , marine, aeronautics).
The five-year N-ISS contract starting from 2 January 2018 will include in-service support for French and Italian terrestrial and naval systems (SAAM-Fr, SAAM-It, PAAMS and SAMP / T) and for all missiles Aster (Aster 15, Aster 30 and Aster 30 Block 1) French, Italian and English.
The new contract includes targeted improvements (introduction of repair packages and simplified management) but also long-term support for the systems' operational life cycle.
