Finmeccanica today signed a contract with the Ministry of the Interior for the continuation of the Tetra PIT Program, concerning the realization of a national mobile radio service mission critical, based on the Tetra standard, for secure communications of the Police Forces.
This contract should provide the Police Forces with greater technological and operational homogeneity, in line with the investment policy in the security sector and the fight against terrorism that the Government is pursuing.
The Tetra PIT system would guarantee the confidentiality of the communications of the Police Forces and should allow an optimal management and coordination of the units located throughout the territory.
