Finmeccanica, through Selex ES, has signed a contract worth 14 million with Fujitsu, a provider of IT networks and communication infrastructures for the UK Ministry of Defense, to defend the offices of the Ministry against cyber attacks and cyber incidents.

The company will develop a solution based on the same global protection approach already used in the project "NATO Computer Incident Response - Full Operational Capability" which provides for the safety of 52 offices and ICT infrastructures of the Atlantic Alliance in different countries 29 .

In particular, Finmeccanica will supply not only technological platforms for the advanced management of cyber security, but also resources able to guide operations following proven methods and procedures. The developed solution would guarantee the ability to detect and combat over one hundred thousand events per second between accidents and network attacks.

The project should be completed quickly thanks to Finmeccanica's thirty years of experience in advanced cyber defense systems, already supplied to 5.000 customers around the world. One of the most significant references is the NATO program Computer Incident Response - Full Operational Capability: operational since May 2014 and in continuous expansion, which would represent the largest initiative in the field of cyber protection ever implemented outside the United States.
