The President and CEO of Fincantieri, Giampiero Massolo and Giuseppe Bono, accompanied by the General Manager, Alberto Maestrini, were involved in a series of high-level institutional meetings in Sydney.

The industrial mission is part of Fincantieri's participation in the Future Frigates - SEA 5000 program, which sees it pre-selected for the construction of 9 future-generation frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), worth approximately 35 billion dollars Australia, one of the most important programs in the world in the surface naval vessels sector, for which Fincantieri is ready to put its capabilities at the service of the Australian government and its Navy through the transfer of technology.

To further strengthen the on-site presence, Fincantieri Australia, based in Canberra, was established at the end of 2016, working alongside the government of the main companies in the country active in the shipbuilding sector, as part of the frigate program that will be realized in Adelaide with a notable increase also in employment levels.

Fincantieri participates in the strong race of the model of its FREMM frigates, in service for the Navy. In Sydney there is also the "Carabiniere" ship, fifth of 10 frigates, delivered by Fincantieri to the Italian Navy in the 2015, engaged in Australia since the beginning of the year in a naval training companion jointly with the RAN.

With this mission, we wanted to present on-site a state-of-the-art product and demonstrate Fincantieri's total commitment to the SEA 5000 program.

The Sydney one is Australia's third "Carabiniere" ship, after those of Fremantle and Adelaide. Prior to his return to Italy, the unit will also support in Melbourne. Parallel to the presence of the frigate in Australia, Fincantieri has organized in each port touched by the ship a series of meetings with local companies to explore potential and future collaborations.
