The technical name is "Distributed Static Staring InfraRed Search and Tracking System" and equips the most modern units of the Navy.

The ability to consistently detect threats from 360° and with a high refresh rate in the infrared field it is its essential peculiarity, especially in times in which the speed of an alarm and the related countermeasures will increasingly make the difference between the survival or otherwise of a ship in a hostile environment. We are therefore dealing with a system intended to guarantee protection at any time of the day, with the ability to face the most insidious threats (missiles sea ​​skimming / surface drones) capable of breaking the defenses of other navies during ongoing conflicts.
