On Tuesday 13 September a meeting was held in Rome between Defense Minister Pinotti and his Argentine counterpart Julio Martínez. The meeting showed the excellent relations between the two countries, wishing to strengthen bilateral agreements on defense and security.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Defense, several topics were discussed. In the immediate future a broader cooperation between Rome and Buenos Aires is expected: there is talk of training military and technical personnel, but also of an increase in negotiations between the respective companies in the defense industry.

Martínez was accompanied by the Argentine ambassador to Italy Tomás Ferrari, by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Brigadier General Enrique Amrein, and by the official Héctor Lostri Secretary at the Ministry of Defense for science, technology and production.

Today, 14 September, the Argentine delegation will visit the leading aerospace company Leonardo-Finmeccanica; to follow the visit to Beretta. The Latin American country has already been looking for new training and transport aircraft for its fleet and modern small arms for its security forces since the 2015.

The strengthening is due to the future programs of Buenos Aires committed to fighting crime, in particular aimed at eradicating drug trafficking.
