The Hungarian Defense Forces have received the first two of the 225 planned H16M multi-purpose helicopters. These were officially delivered to Szolnok Air Base by Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters.

"I am very pleased that today the first H225Ms have been delivered to Hungary"said Bruno Even. “The Defense Forces are taking delivery of a combat-proven multi-role platform which is the latest version of a very successful family of helicopters. Together with the light twin-engine H145M, already in service, Hungary now has a modern fleet of helicopters capable of performing a wide range of military missions and we are proud that they decided that our helicopters were the right choice for their very important operations.”

In order to ensure the highest level of operational readiness, Airbus also provides an extensive training and support package.

Hungary's selected H225Ms are equipped with state-of-the-art communications capabilities and will be used for transport, combat search and rescue and special operations missions. Advanced avionics and four-axis autopilot, exceptional range and payload capabilities, combined with a large cabin designed to carry up to 24 people and powerful air-to-surface and air-to-ground weaponry, as well as electronic warfare systems, enable the H225M to perform the most demanding missions. The helicopter is able to operate in all weather conditions thanks to the compatibility with night vision goggles.

A portion of the Hungarian fleet of H225Ms will be equipped with the HForce weapons management system, adding air support capabilities and thus creating further commonality with the Hungarian fleet of H145Ms, also equipped with HForce. Flight trials for the integration of a gun pod and rocket launchers on the Hungarian H225M were recently conducted in Hungary.

A member of the Super Puma multi-role helicopter family, this military variant is currently in operation in France, Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Kuwait and Singapore.
