Boeing and US Air Force have recently signed an agreement to support the GPS (Global Positioning System) network in order to guarantee the navigation capabilities of millions of military and commercial users for years to come.

Under the agreement, Boeing will take care of the constellation of satellites (already in orbit) GPS IIA and IIF for the next five years. Boeing - which has been prime contractor for the GPS network for more than 40 years - is now a key Air Force ally in building the next generation of GPS satellites.

Overall, Boeing's GPS satellites have passed the 550 years of in-orbit operation.

In March 2016, the company delivered its 50 ° GPS satellite for the Air Force and boasts the construction of two-thirds of the GPS satellites that came into operation from the 1978.
