Boeing raises estimates on the demand for new aircraft: over 41.000 new aircraft in the next 20 years!

The company's Current Outlook Market (CMO) has been released today during the Paris Air Show, with a total increase in 3,6% demand compared to the previous forecast.

"Passenger traffic has been very solid this year and we expect to see it grow by 4,7% every year over the next two decades"Said Randy Tinseth, vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Marketing. "The market is especially hungry for single-aisle aircraft, as more and more people travel by air".

The single-aisle segment will see the greatest growth, fueled by low-cost carriers and emerging markets. 29.530 will need new aircraft in this segment, an increase of almost 5% compared to last year.

The forecast for the segment widebody includes 9.130 aircraft with the possibility of a large demand for replacements from the beginning of the next decade. Because many airlines switch to airplanes widebody small and medium-large, like the 787 and the 777X, the main demand for very large aircraft is advancing in the cargo market. Boeing forecasts the need for 920 aircraft widebody frighters of new production in the period examined.

The Asian market, including China, will continue to dominate in total aircraft deliveries over the next twenty years. Worldwide, the 57% of new deliveries will be due to the expansion of airlines, while the 43% will be for the replacement of old aircraft with new, more efficient jets.
